Description
RhizoLoc® is a low-profile thumb orthosis that stabilizes the base of the thumb while keeping the wrist free. It’s designed to reduce painful motion at the carpometacarpal (CMC) and metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints so you can grip, type, and carry out daily activities. The adjustable strap lets you set how much movement is limited as symptoms improve.
When it helps
- Sprains or ligament irritation of the thumb (e.g., “skier’s thumb”)
- Thumb CMC/MCP joint instability or irritation
- Osteoarthritis at the base of the thumb
- Post-injury or post-operative protection (as directed by your clinician)
How it supports
- Contoured stay helps guide and protect the thumb joints.
- Adjustable control strap limits painful ranges (you can fine-tune restriction).
- Breathable, skin-friendly materials for all-day wear under sleeves.
- Slim shape fits most everyday activities (no bulky wrist cuff).
RhizoLoc is typically worn on the affected side (left or right) and sized by hand circumference. It should feel snug but not tight, with the strap tension adjusted to comfort. If you’re unsure of size or fit, a quick fitting ensures proper support without over-restricting movement.
